Select Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features and list the items there where you do not know what they do.
Exit and use Google to find out what they do. You can also get feedback here if you are unsure whether to uninstall. To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns freeware from Microsoft. With Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it from starting, or you can right click an item and then delete it.
If you uncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much safer approach than editing the Registry and better than using msconfig.
A useful feature of the programme is that you can right click an item and select Search Online to get information about the item selected. Disabling services is not the answer, except a very limited number of exceptions. It just stops your computer working properly and you then waste time trying to discover why you have another problem. It's the unnecessary applications and poor choices of software you need to remove.
You can also find in these situations concealed malware, which initially malware scans do not reveal. My Netbook is painfully slow - It was allright a few months back - but now it's really slow.
This change has been gradual. However no infection was reported. I regularly clean up Temp files and use Ccleaner for fixing and cleaning up the registry. Can you please suggest me some ways to boost up speed??
This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question 1. Report abuse. I got myself a netbook Samsung NC10 Plus recently, and while I don't regret it because I view it as an emergency computer if I should spill water on my laptop, it isn't pleasant to use.
I'm with you on all points. I've had to treat even a new netbook for the time, anyway like it was a very old PC It boots very quickly and I can usually get working in very little time. That said, I wouldn't recommend using it as a primary machine for long durations I've done that setup in the past and it's worked out for the most part, but without them I don't think I could use it for more than 2 hours. It depends on the processor.
A low-end single-core Intel Atom is okay for light browsing. But some ultra-portables with dual-core CPU's are much zippier, e. For most uses it depends on memory too: both RAM and mass storage. A typical user has a browser, an IM and some other window opened most of the time. Your netbook is probably running under Windows 10 operating system, right? How to fix that? If you are like me, who uses a netbook mainly to deal with emails and surf the Internet. Be aware that you might be using your netbook the wrong way when you are browsing the net.
I was used to opening multiple web pages and windows, at first, it was okay, but gradually the Internet started to hang a lot. A quick performance analysis revealed that some web pages are consuming more CPUs and memory than they should. This tip may sound no-brainer, but it works amazingly well. Many times even if I have closed all apps and services, my netbook is still slow. Often a simple restart seems clear everything.
I guess a netbook is like a man; you get tired after working for a few hours without a break. So be kind to your netbook. But, that does not mean you should experience performance issues. With the tuneup tips and tricks introduced above, I hope your netbook now runs faster. For example, replacing the HDD hard disk drive with a new SSD solid-state drive would speed up your netbook dramatically.
